Two high school students charged with juvenile crimes

Raising a child can be difficult, especially for parents who do not have substantial support. When kids reach a certain age, controlling their behavior and choices becomes nearly impossible. For most Virginia parents, the teenage years are a time of high stress and high drama before kids move on to begin their adult lives. Sometimes, however, teenagers make poor choices that can lead to juvenile crimes charges. Such charges can shape the course of the rest of their lives.

Federal crimes charges dropped against former governor

All too often, media coverage of federal criminal charges is focused only on the initial stages of the legal process. That leaves the public unaware of how all but the most high profile cases are resolved. It also results in tarnishing the names of individuals who are accused of federal crimes, only to have those accusations later withdrawn. An example is found in the recent decision to drop all federal charges against Bob McDonnell, former governor of Virginia.

Off-duty police officer facing DUI charges

An accusation of driving while under the influence is a serious matter. If an individual is charged with and convicted of DUI, his or her life can take a drastic negative turn. Aside from the fines and potential for incarceration, a DUI will have lasting effects. It can lead to the loss of a job, or make finding a new job difficult. In addition, there are a range of social repercussions that come with a DUI conviction in the state of Virginia.
